Did you know the Pawsitively Elgin Committee is made up of just 12 volunteers? Together, they pour hundreds of hours into making the annual event happen—not for recognition or reward, but simply because they love animals and believe they deserve a voice.
That’s it. That’s the whole reason. And it’s pretty pawsome.
Why Volunteer?
You’ve probably heard it before—there are tons of reasons to volunteer. A quick Google search will give you all the usual suspects: build skills, meet people, feel good, give back. And honestly? They’re all true.
But your reason might be more personal.
Maybe you’re in high school, checking off those community service hours.
Maybe you’re retired and just love being around people (and dogs!).
Maybe you just want to be part of something that matters.
Whatever your “why,” the heart of it is the same: We show up because we care.
Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they have the heart.
